Trio of educators offers free concert at USC
A trio of professional musicians from the Carolinas will join together to perform in Columbia tonight.
The Black Mountain Trio will host a concert 7:30 p.m. today at the University of South Carolina School of Music Recital Hall, room 206, 813 Assembly St. The concert is free and open to the public.
The trio is made up of violinist Kevin Lawrence, cellist Brooks Whitehouse and pianist Phillip Bush. The Black Mountain Trio will play works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Lawrence Dillon and Antonin Dvorak.
Phillip Bush is an piano and chamber music associate professor at the University of South Carolina School of Music.
Lawrence is the string department chair in the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Music Department.
Whitehouse is a faculty cellist at UNCSA.
All three have taught music and performed several times throughout their careers around the country.
