Umphrey’s McGee is the second well-known jam band to hit Columbia in as many weeks, following Widespread Panic’s two-night stand at The Township. Umphrey’s McGee plays what it calls “improg” or improvised prog-rock, which blends rock, funk, jazz and electronica. The group is going on 18 years since forming at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Last year, Umphrey’s McGee released a studio album, “The London Session,” that the band recorded in one day at Abbey Road Studios in the U.K.

The Machine performs Pink Floyd: You aren’t able to experience a real Pink Floyd show, but you can get close by going to see Floyd tribute band The Machine. The Honey Dewdrops: Songwriters and Virginia natives Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish play Americana and folk music.
