Art auction shows off works from USC community

Dozens of works of art crafted by University of South Carolina alumni, faculty and students will go to the highest at a fundraising event Wednesday.

The USC School of Visual Art and Design (SVAD) is hosting its 61st annual Art Auction today in the McMaster Gallery, 1615 Senate St. The art up for a live auction and a silent auctionwill be on display beginning at 1 p.m. The event will start with a preview party at 6 p.m. and the live auction at 6:30 p.m.

The auction will include original art from the SVAD faculty, students, and alumni from a variety of mediums including: cermaics, paintings, photography, printmaking and sculpture.

Proceeds from the auctioned items will benefit the artists and the USC Art Scholarship and Gallery Fund.
