“4 LITTLE GIRLS:” 6:30 p.m. Monday at The Nickelodeon. The theater is offering a guest-curated series of films on Mondays in March, selected by National Book Award-winning poet Nikky Finney. The Nick notes that each of the films explores “the characters’ search for definition of freedom.” First up is “4 Little Girls,” in which director Spike Lee reconstructs the environment of racial unrest in 1963 Birmingham that precipitated a haunting act of white supremacist terrorism: the bombing of a black church that killed four little girls. $10. 1607 Main St. www.nickelodeon.org

With more than 6,000 pieces in Historic Columbia’s collection, the Lunch & Learn series presents the opportunity to see rare artifacts in 60-minute sessions. Bring your lunch and munch your way into the past. In preparation for the future exhibit on the Robert Mills House as a seminary, this presentation looks at the history, people, and events that are connected to the site during the seminary’s time in Columbia. $5 general public, free for Historic Columbia members.
