Splashing in Lake Murray often gives swimmers a taste of the lake that is less than appetizing.

But Thursday there is a Taste of Lake Murray that will be quite savory.

Capital City Lake Murray Country is hosting A Taste of Lake Murray, the sole fundraiser for the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration on Lake Murray. This event helps raise money to produce the July celebration, which includes a boat parade and fireworks.

A Taste of Lake Murray starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton on Bush River Road.

“It’s the social event of Lake Murray for the spring season,” said Miriam Atria, president and CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country.

Participating restaurants/vendors include Alodia’s, Bistro on the Boulevard, Blue Marlin, Bricktown Bistro and Raw Bar, Columbo’s, Enoree River Winery, Frayed Knot Bar and Grill,-Ganbei Japanese Restaurant and Bar, Hollow Creek Distillery, Julep’s Bistro, Kaminsky’s, KW Beverage, Liberty on the Lake, Mercer Winery, Rioz Brazillian Steakhouse, Spinner’s Resort Marina, Southern Squeezed, Three Olives Vodka and Topper’s Rhum.

There also will be a food truck food court, which will include Moe’s-Lake Murray Boulevard and Pawleys Front Porch.

The Mark Roberts Band will perform at the casual dress attire event.

Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at the door, online at www.lakemurraycountry.com or by calling (803)-781-5940. Tickets include admission, food, beer, wine and specialty drinks.

“The lake community really loves this event,” Atria said. “It’s a casual feel with some of the best restaurants in the Columbia area.”
