How I Go Columbia: Jeremy Addy of Craig Reagin Clothiers
Jeremy Addy opened Craig Reagin Clothiers in April 2011, during his sophomore year at Clemson University, on Main Street in Lexington.
The Lexington native grew up in an entrepreneurial family and was exposed to the inner workings of family business through his parent’s automotive dealership, Addy Dodge. At Craig Reagin, Addy offers a variety of upscale clothing for youth, men and women featuring brands such as Southern Proper, Vineyard Vine, Joe Jeans and Southern Tide.
EAT: One of my favorite local shops to grab a quick lunch is Cribb’s Sandwich and Sweet Shop. Joe does a great job baking fresh desserts everyday and really offers an at-home environment, welcoming each customer by name and going above and beyond to make sure everyone is satisfied. An added bonus is that they are right out our back door, so it’s always quick and convenient to call over and have our food ready and waiting when we walk over. Keg Cowboy and Private Property both offer a great dinner and can both be found on Main Street (in Lexington). The blackened ribeye at Private Property is a must-try and one of the best steaks I’ve had in our area. Keg Cowboy offers a refined selection that changes periodically but can always be sure to showcase the housemade bread. On special occasions when I make the trip to Columbia, I really enjoy Motor Supply Co. As a child, my father told me about my grandfather working there when it was originally an automotive parts depot, and that has resonated with me since. Eating there gives me a connection to my heritage, and I always leave satisfied and happy.
DRINK: My usual spot for drinks is Arkos Mojo Grill and Bar in Lexington’s Flight Deck Shopping Center. Jonathan offers an extensive array of unique drinks sure to complement his menu. Seasonally, he changes his drink menu so that the customer can try different drinks sure to become their new favorites. When entertaining in Columbia, I usually find myself at Pearlz because after drinks, we typically step next door into Kaminsky’s for sweet desserts and drinks.
LISTEN: Recently, I attended St. Paul and the Broken Bones at the Music Farm in the Vista. The Music Farm is a great smaller venue to become introduced to some new bands. Lexington is also in the process of building its own amphitheater next door to our shop on Main Street, and I look forward to attending and listening to artists they are able to book.
PLAY: As a boat owner, I enjoy spending time on Lake Murray every chance I get. The lake offers a beautiful recreational area that is perfect for a group or just some time alone to reflect on everything. During summer months, I also enjoy taking clients and friends to the Lexington County Blowfish games. I’m also excited to visit the new Columbia Fireflies stadium and watch their games this season.
SEE: One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is taking my dog to the Riverwalk. This allows us to experience firsthand one of the natural beauties that Columbia offers and gives us plenty long to occupy an entire afternoon.
