Urban Cookhouse, set to open on the corner of Devine and Sims streets by this summer, has broken ground at a second location in Irmo. The chain, using the “Buy Local. Eat Urban” slogan, uses locally sourced produce in its menu, which includes items such as lime-marinated steak and rice, wood-fired shrimp kabobs and mixed greens salads. The Irmo location will be at 1072 Lake Murray Blvd., in the space formerly occupied by Atlanta Bread Co. www.urbancookhouse.com

Fatz Cafe in Lexington has recently undergone a major renovation and has added new menu items. The new interior pays homage to the origins of the first Fatz restaurant, which began in a converted peach shed, and movable tables will offer more flexibility in seating groups of diners. New items – such as Georgia pecan trout, fried bologna sandwiches and the pimento cheese plate appetizer – join favorites like the calabash chicken and baby back ribs on the Fatz menu. 942 E. Red Robin Gourmet Burger and Brews debuted the red ramen burger nationwide this week. The burger, served on a crispy seasoned ramen bun, is topped with teriyaki and Chiu Chow aioli, a medley of chili-infused shredded cabbage, carrot and onion and garnished with fresh basil. The restaurant chain has designated April 19 as “Red Ramen Day,” when the first 22 college students through the doors with valid ID get a red ramen burger with bottomless steak fries for only 22 cents. All other guests will recieve a $2.22 discount off the new burger that day in participating restaurants. www.redrobin.com

Denny’s Red, White & Bacon menu features, you guessed it, bacon. In (early) celebration of the release of “Independence Day: Resurgence” in theaters nationwide on June 24, the bacon-centric menu includes dishes such as the triple bacon sampler (honey-jalapeno bacon, hickory-smoked bacon and turkey bacon with two eggs, hash browns and bread), bacon cheddar tots, honey jalapeno bacon sriacha burger, and the loaded bacon, steak and potato skillet (prime rib topped with chopped bacon with potatoes and broccoli on a hot skillet, topped with shredded cheddar and pepper jack queso). www.dennys.com
