CAYCE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Brookland-Cayce High School, 1300 State St., Cayce. HIP-HOP FAMILY DAY: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday on Columbia’s Main Street. Hip-Hop Family Day is an annual family festival organized by Love, Peace & Hip-Hop. This year’s headliner is rapper KRS-One. 2016 GARNET AND BLACK SPRING GAME: Noon Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. Get an early look at the Gamecocks football team. Also: Beginning at 11 a.m., more than 100 former Gamecock lettermen will take part in a flag football game on the north end of Williams-Brice Stadium. The football alumni will be introduced at halftime, and will participate in an hour-long autograph session on the field following the game and the playing of the alma mater. Free.
RIVER ROCKS MUSIC FESTIVAL: Gates open noon Saturday at The Esplanade at Canalside on Canalside Street. Live music includes Debbie & the Skanks, The Empire Strikes Brass, The Marcus King Band, Dank, Sol Driven Train. $12 in advance, $15 at the gate. free for ages 12 and under; benefits Congaree Riverkeeper. www.riverrocksfestival.com
PALMETTO HALF MARATHON: 7 a.m. start Saturday at Academy Sports, Village at Sandhill, Northeast Richland. In addition to the half marathon, there is a 5K, kids’ fun run and youth half marathon. Registration fees vary by event. www.palmettohalfmarathon.com

AUGUSTA BAKER’S DOZEN: 6:30 p.m. Friday at 701 Whaley, 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Richland Library’s main branch. It’s the 30th anniversary of “Augusta Baker’s Dozen: A Celebration of Stories.” This year’s event features Caldecott-winning illustrator and author Chris Raschka as a guest speaker. Friday’s event features “An Evening with Chris Raschka,” with a talk and book sale and signing. Saturday’s event includes storytelling, music and theater performances in the library’s Children’s Room, 1431 Assembly St. Books will be on sale and can be signed by the author. www.richlandlibrary.com
