CJ Mack featured musician at Tapp’s Songversation
This week’s featured Songversations artist at Tapp’s Arts Center is blues and jazz musician CJ Mack. Listen to Mack, a Cheraw native and third cousin to the late Dizzie Gillespie, play and talk about his music.
The Songversations series at the Tapp’s Arts Center, hosted by Al Black, includes a live performance and insight into the artist’s songwriting process.
Mack has been a regular player in Columbia for the past decade. Gospel frequently finds its way into his music. He even has a song called “God Love the Gamecocks.”
In Mack’s words, “we survive on our faith, that’s how the Gamecocks win.”
The event is set for 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp’s Arts Center Skyline Room, 1644 Main St. Tickets are $5-$20.
