Music in the Midlands: Flavor Flav, Rhythm on the River, SLO
Flavor Flav
When will you get another chance to hear a rap icon like Flavor Flav in a place like Newberry? Born William Drayton, the man with the clock necklaces and stunna shades has been out of the public eye as of late. It’s been awhile since Flav’s days on VH1’s “The Surreal Life” and subsequent spinoff, “Flavor of Love,” and even longer since his time with Public Enemy – yet now he’s coming to Newberry to perform. As Flav would say, “Yeah boy!”
8 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Newberry Opera House, 1201 McKibben St., Newberry. $34. www.newberryoperahouse.com/
