In its “Science on Screen” series, the Nickelodeon Theatre pairs a classic, cult or documentary film with an introduction delivered by notable figures from the world of science, technology or medicine.
The Nick is screening four films as part of this national series, with the final screening in June.
Next up is “The Stanford Prison Experiment” on Tuesday, a movie about the controversial Stanford University psychology study that pitted college-student “guards” against “prisoners.” The role-play got out of hand quickly, and the two-week experiment was terminated after just six days.
The University of South Carolina psychology professor Dr. Sandra Kelly will introduce the film and discuss many of the issues inherent in the famed experiment as well as the psychology of power and imprisonment.
6:30 p.m. Nickelodeon Theatre, 1607 Main St. Each show, $10. nickelodeon.org/
