Columbia Fashion Week prepares to take the runway for its fifth year
Columbia Fashion Week is ready to strut its stuff for a fifth year.
The week of stylish events will be held June 21-25. Fashionistas can look forward to runway presentations as well as educational panels that invite regional fashion leaders to Columbia to talk about the fashion industry.
“This year we have Elliot Carlyle, Janet Parker, Elizabeth Ward, Jennifer Everett and a lot of other great people coming down to teach us about fashion,” said Alicia Zeigler, founder and director of Columbia Fashion Week.
Thursday night will be the kickoff to the runway shows, starting with a kids night “runway revolution.” The night ends with runway ready looks by local student designers from the University of South Carolina and Benedict College.
“Its the perfect night for the entire family to come out to fashion week,” said Zeigler.
Friday and Saturday nights are the biggest draws, featuring local retailers, local designers, as well as national and international designers and retailers who will be showcasing collections on the runway.
