Five After Five concert series returns Thursday
Now that the weather is warm and wonderful, it’s time for some outdoor concerts.
The Five After Five spring concert series returns Thursday, April 28 at the fountain in Five Points.
The free series features local musicians and continues on the fourth Thursday of each month until October. If you’re counting, that’s two more months than usual, totaling seven shows instead of five.
Local food, arts and crafts vendors, local brews and entertainment for kids also are on tap. Terence Young and Finesse Band will headline. Muscle Memory will open. So far, the Five Points Association has only announced the first bands in the series.
New this year is a neighborhoodwide Wine Walk, featuring complimentary wine, sales and specials in Five Points stores. And to honor fallen music legend Prince, the Five Points Fountain will be dyed purple this week. Thursday’s concert will also feature a musical tribute from John Blackwell, a Columbia native and long-time drummer for Prince.
