Unwind after your day at Riverbanks’ Rhythm and Blooms
If you’re in the mood for flowers, dinosaurs and some classic rock and funk, Riverbanks Botanical Garden is the place to be Thursdays this month.
Starting tonight, Rhythm and Blooms will rock the gardens from 6-9 p.m.
There will be live entertainment, and an opportunity to explore Waterfall Junction – Destination Riverbanks’ all-new 3-acre children’s garden. Kids can splash in and under a 25-foot cascading waterfall, unearth a life-size replica of T-Rex, frolic between giant tree houses and kid-sized play houses, pop in and out of rabbit holes and more.
Meanwhile, Eight Track Parade, a classic rock and funk band, will perform at the first of the four-week series. Reggie Sullivan (alternative soul rock) performs May 12, Bobby Houck of the Blue Dogs (American country rock) May 19 and Whiskey Tango Revue (alternative country rock) May 26.
“It’s a lot of fun,” said Susan O’Cain, spokesperson for Riverbanks. “It’s a very relaxing, family friendly evening.”
Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Food and drink are available for purchase and there will be a cash bar.
“It’s a good way to get out and relax unwind from your day,” O’Cain said.
Admission is free for Riverbanks members and $5 for the general public. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online. Members must present a valid membership card and picture ID at the gate (guest passes will not be accepted).
Parking and entry to the event will be available on the Botanical Garden side only. Guests can access the farden entrance from U.S. 378 via Mohawk and Seminole Drives.
