Columbia panel to discuss race Sunday at SC State Museum

A panel discussion is set Sunday, titled “No Blame, No Shame: A Conversation About Race.”

The event, presented by the S.C. Human Affairs Commission, is set for 3 p.m. at the S.C. State Museum, 301 Gervais St.

Among panelists are Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, Julie Smithwick, Brence Pernell, and Jacqueline Blackwell, according to a news release.

The discussion is part of special events coinciding with the museum’s exhibit “RACE: Are We So Different?” and what citizens can do to make our cities and communities better.

Guests of the panel discussion will receive free admission to the blockbuster exhibit.
