Music Break gives music to the public, resources to local musicians

Cut loose and get funky Tuesday with Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band at Music Break.

In its fifth year, Music Break brings together musicians, young professionals and business representatives from across the Midlands to connect and promote local and regional talent.

The event is hosted by Columbia Opportunity Resource and is open to the public.

Ropeswing Marathon, The Harsh Truth and Kelly Cheats will perform, with the chance to to play at the Charleston New Music Confab. Then The Marcus King Band will open for headliners Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band.

That’s five bands for $15. Talk about a deal.

Panels for musicians begin at 5:30 p.m. and concerts start at 6:45 p.m. at Music Farm Columbia, 1022 Senate St. $10 for students, military and COR members; $15 general public. www.musicfarm.com
