Chart-topping 90s favorites bringing R&B concert to Columbia

Some of the biggest R&B music stars from the 1990s are coming to Columbia for a concert.

Keith Sweat, Brian McKnight, El DeBarge, Dru Hill and Tevin Campbell are all on the bill for the Columbia R&B Spring Fest, Colonial Life Arena officials said Monday.

The concert is set for April 25, and tickets will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m.

Tickets will be available online at ticketmaster.com and at the Colonial Life Arena box office.

Information on ticket prices was not available.

Sweat helped popularize new jack swing music and is known for hits “I Want Her,” “Make It Last Forever,” “I’ll Give All My Love to You,” “Make You Sweat,” “Get Up on It,” “Twisted,” and “Nobody.”

McKnight has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide and his hits include the chart-topping “Back At One,” “One Last Cry,” and “Anytime.”

El Debarge is now solo after fronting the band with the same name, and has hit with songs “Rhythm of the Night,” “Who’s Johnny,” “Time Will Reveal,” “Stay with Me,” “All This Love,” and “Love Always.”

Hill has seven Top 40 hits, and is best known for “In My Bed,” “Never Make a Promise,” and “How Deep Is Your Love.”

Campbell collaborated with Quincy Jones and Prince and has had hits with “Round and Round,” “Tomorrow,” “Tell Me What You Want Me to Do,” and “Goodbye.”
