A pair of new ice cream shops are on the way in the Midlands.

Holy Cow Creamery is planning shops at 110 Clemson Road in northeast Columbia and at 603 Columbia Ave. in Lexington, as noted in Facebook posts for each of the locations. Holy Cow’s coming Lexington shop also is listed in the town of Lexington’s most recent new business license report.

The spots where the Holy Cow Creamery shops are going were formerly home to Lick Ice Cream restaurants. Holy Cow noted in responses on Facebook that it will be offering “dozens of flavors of Hershey’s Ice Cream and delicious, creative desserts,” as well as “Mega Mooshakes with special toppings.”

Opening dates for the Holy Cow shops have not been publicly announced.

The ice cream spots will each be in busy areas. The location at 603 Columbia Ave. in Lexington is near a number of other commercial businesses, including an Applebee’s, a Wendy’s, Palmetto Cards and other retailers. About 33,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Columbia Avenue, per state Department of Transportation statistics.

The spot at 110 Clemson Road in northeast Columbia is just off Interstate 20. The Holy Cow space will be right next door to a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop. Nearly 24,000 cars per day traverse Clemson Road in that section, per state data.
