The Dales Biergarten & Bottle Shoppe, a closed Lexington restaurant and bar, is getting a permanent home as a food truck at a popular bar in downtown Columbia.

The owners of the bottle shop will operate a food truck, serving some longtime favorites, at Craft and Draft on Devine Street, they announced in a Facebook post Tuesday.

“You’ve been asking about the wings. The Korean Philly. The burger. The chicken pita. Good news — it’s the same menu you already love. No changes. Just your favorites, served up in our new downtown home,” owners wrote in the post.

Owners did not announce a formal grand opening in their posts. The beer garden, that sat at 3150 Platt Springs Road in rural Springdale, permanently closed in October of last year.

At the time, owners said liquor liability insurance laws were a reason for the closure, which has been an ongoing issue in South Carolina in the last two years, with many bar and restaurant owners citing skyrocketing premiums.

The food truck, The Dales Grill, will have a permanent home at 2706 Devine St., where Craft and Draft serves pours and hosts things like live music and trivia.
