The Midlands will soon have another Another Broken Egg.

The Louisiana-based breakfast restaurant chain is in the process of setting up a second location at 929 N. Lake Drive in Lexington.

This will be the second location in the Columbia area for Another Broken Egg, which opened a Devine Street restaurant last year. The Louisiana-based chain also has S.C. locations in Charleston, Greenville and Mount Pleasant.

The company’s website lists the North Lake Drive site as a “coming soon” location. A Lexington town spokesperson said they had reviewed plans for upfitting the building on the site but have not yet received a business license application for the company.

Senior general manager Bruce Montondo told Cola Daily the new cafe will open in April or May of next year, and employ up to 50 people.

Another Broken Egg boasts an array of morning-to-midday dishes, from omelettes and scramblers to French toast to salads and sandwiches. Some unique items include a lobster and brie omelette and biscuit beignets. The menu also includes a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian options.

It serve cocktails including traditional Bloody Marys and mimosas, as well as spiked coffees and other specialty drinks.
