Harbor Freight just opened a new Lexington location. Check out where
A popular national tool and equipment chain just opened a new location in one of the Midlands busiest and fastest growing retail districts.
The new Harbor Freight, which joined four existing locations across Columbia and West Columbia, opened on June 16 at 732 West Main Street in downtown Lexington. The store occupies the same shopping center as a Wingstop restaurant and a Food Lion supermarket.
The store was approved for construction in January, replacing a closed Badcock furniture store. The company hired locally, bringing at least 10 new jobs to the area, a news release said.
The company operates more than 1,600 stores across the United States according to statistics from their website. The retailer now has 39 active locations in South Carolina, the news release said.
Harbor Freight offers a wide variety of products, including including hand tools, power tools, tool storage and generators, along with automotive, welding, shop and outdoor equipment. The company’s website claimed a range of over 7,500 products.
More than 40,000 cars travel down the section of West Main Street Harbor Freight set up shop at, according to State Department of Transportation data.
