Both Columbia Fazoli’s restaurants have been sold.

Owner-operator Bob Jones and his partner sold the two franchises earlier this month after about two decades.

Jones, 71, was manager of both the restaurants since their opening. Although the sale was made with an eye toward retirement, Jones will continue as manager of the local fast food Italian restaurants for now.

“What else would I do?” he said while serving food, busing tables and balancing books Thursday at the Harbison location near Columbiana Centre mall.

Richland County property records show the store at 139 Columbiana Drive was sold by Jones’ Irmo Restaurants LLC to HH Valdosta Holdings for $675,000. Records were not available on the sale of the Fazoli’s location at 7621 Two Notch Road.

The Fazoli’s chain was begun in 1988 in Lexington, Ky., by then-Long John Silver’s owner Jerrico Inc. It is now operated by Seed Restaurant Group and operates more than 200 restaurants in 26 states, according to the company’s website.

Earlier this month, The State reported that Fazoli’s signed a deal with Impact Hospitality, which plans to open for more locations of the restaurant chain in the next five years.
