A young man was hit and killed crossing I-20. The coroner needs help identifying him
The Richland County Coroner’s Office needs help identifying a man who was hit and killed while crossing Interstate 20 Sunday night.
The deadly incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of I-20 near mile marker 65, troopers have said. A man was crossing the interstate when he was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Tuesday that they need help making a positive identification of the man. Watts said the victim is a thin black male who is young in appearance. He was wearing a gray shirt and denim shorts and has tattoos on both forearms.
One of the tattoos says “Free yourself,” Watts said.
Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity is asked to call the coroner’s office at 803-576-1799.
