Another QuikTrip planned for Columbia area — that’s 5!
QuikTrip, a popular gas station and convenience store chain, is opening a wave of stores in the Columbia area.
In addition to four locations already announced, a fifth is now planned.
The Woodcreek Farms area of northeast Columbia, near Elgin, is next up.
The Columbia Planning Commission next month will consider a site plan for the store at 567 Spears Creek Church Road, just off Interstate 20 near Pontiac Elementary School.
QuikTrip previously has confirmed it plans to open in at least four other Midlands locations in 2020:
- 8205 Two Notch Road, near Interstate 77 in Columbia — projected to open in September
- 10320 Wilson Blvd., Blythewood — projected to open in October or November
- South Lake Drive and Interstate 20 in Lexington — projected to open in December
- 305 Five Chop Road, Orangeburg — projected to open in December
Until now, there have been no QuikTrip stores within 50 miles of South Carolina’s capital. QT, as the brand is commonly known, is popular among travelers for its wide selection of hot foods, including pizzas, biscuits and tacos.
