Search ends for Midlands man missing since May, SC sheriff’s office says

The search for a missing 40-year-old Midlands man with a medical condition who had not been seen in about a month ended Monday, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said.

Joseph Davies was located and is safe, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Further information on Davies’ condition was not available.

Davies has a history of mental illness and had not been in touch with his family since about May 20, the sheriff’s office said in the release.

Information on where Davies was found, or if he was alone, was not made available. There was no word on why Davies had not been in touch with his family for about a month.
