What’s the best grocery store in the Midlands? Vote in our bracket today

When it comes to grocery stores, it seems like everyone has a favorite.

Maybe you’re attracted to a certain supermarket because of the prices. Or because there’s a special one that has the freshest fruits and vegetables. Maybe you consistently hit the same store because it’s got wider aisles or because it stocks that artisan cheese your wife likes so much.

Maybe the grocery store you prefer serves beer or wine and allows you to sip while you shop. Or perhaps you stay loyal to your favorite grocer because of the people: The manager who keeps the place running smoothly, or the bagger who goes the extra mile to help you get your things to the car.

Simply put, people have opinions about their favorite grocery store. Now, we want readers to tell us which Midlands grocery store they think is the best. Welcome to The State’s 2022 Grocery Store Bracket.

We are starting with 16 grocery stores, selected by members of The State’s staff. This is not a scientific or all-encompassing poll, of course, but we’re asking readers to make their top choices among the initial group of 16.

The bracket will then whittle down to eight grocers for the second round, then down to four and so on, until a bracket champion is crowned.

You have until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 6, to cast votes in Round 1, the Shoppers’ 16. Then look for Round 2, the Excellent Eight, beginning Monday, March 7.

So cast your votes, and happy shopping!
