It’s Bo Time: A new Bojangles is coming to the Midlands. Check out where it will be
It’s about to be Bo Time for one small Midlands town.
A new Bojangles chicken restaurant is under construction in Saluda. The restaurant is being built at 300 North Main St. in downtown Saluda.
A sign at the site listed the restaurant as “opening soon.” The restaurant is in the process of hiring managers and crew members, according to nowhiring.com/bocountry/.
There are about two dozen Bojangles locations across the Midlands, including 11 in Columbia, as well as spots in Lexington, West Columbia, Blythewood, Batesburg and elsewhere. This will be the first Bojangles in the town of Saluda, which has a population of about 3,600. Saluda County, which has a robust agricultural presence, has about 18,000 residents.
Bojangles is known for its Cajun fried chicken, as well as its sides, a deep roster of breakfast biscuits, and its sweet tea. The franchise also enlisted in the fast food chicken sandwich wars last year when it introduced the Bo’s Chicken Sandwich.
Bojangles has continued to make moves in the Columbia area. For instance, in May the city of Columbia approved plans for the Bojangles at 4301 Fort Jackson Blvd. to be demolished so that a bigger version of the restaurant could be built back on the site. The current Bojangles at 4301 Fort Jackson Blvd. is about 2,600 square feet and has a single drive-thru lane. The new unit would be 3,138 square feet and would have two drive-thru lanes.
