TakoSushi fusion restaurant opens in return to Columbia. Here’s where the new spot is
A fusion restaurant highlighting Asian and Southwestern flavors has opened its doors at a new spot on Columbia’s busy Main Street.
TakoSushi is now open at 1332 Main St. in the historic Arcade Mall. The restaurant touted its opening in a Tuesday Facebook post.
“We are open and ready to serve you Columbia,” the restaurant posted. “Come check out our beautiful bar and and try some of our delicious specialty cocktails.”
In a second Facebook post, Columbia’s TakoSushi said it is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. Menus on TakoSushi’s website nod at the fusion leanings of the restaurant, with offerings including sushi rolls, tacos, stir fry, nachos, edamame and much more.
There are several TakoSushi restaurants around the greater region, including spots in Aiken, Greenville, Augusta and Evans, Georgia.
This marks a return to the Columbia market for TakoSushi. It previously had a location on Assembly Street in the Vista, which closed in 2019.
The fusion restaurant’s debut is another bit of progress for the historic Arcade Mall, the Main Street hidden gem that includes a deli, a book shop, a pizza place and numerous other businesses in a picturesque setting with entrances on Main and Washington streets.
