Has that “change oil soon” light that is probably illuminated on your car dashboard been bugging you?

If you’re in Lexington County, you’ll soon have a new place to get that taken care of.

A new Take 5 Oil Change is set to open at 1846 South Lake Drive in the Red Bank area, according to a release from commercial real estate firm Cypress Development Partners. The real estate company said the new Take 5 is expected to open the week of Sept. 19.

There are currently five other Take 5 locations in the Midlands. The chain is known for its speedy oil changes one of its catchphrases claims the “fastest oil change on the planet” — where customers remain in their car while the work is completed.

The new Red Bank spot is a 1,500-square-foot building with three drive-in bays. It is in a bustling commercial area near a Lowe’s Home Improvement and a Walmart, and a new Chick-fil-A opened on nearby Platt Springs Road earlier this year. More than 28,000 cars pass by the Take 5 site every day, per state traffic count data.

“We are excited to wrap up construction on this new Take 5 Oil Change,” Cypress Development Partners development associate Tyler Baldwin III said in a statement. “Red Bank is a growing and vibrant community in the Midlands, and Take 5 will offer folks in this area a fast and convenient option for their automotive care.”

Take 5 Oil Change is part of a large family of automotive brands that also includes Take 5 Car Wash. A Take 5 Car Wash location is under construction on Augusta Road in West Columbia.
