The Bin Store, a new discount store that is part of the bin shopping trend, is set to open Oct. 21 at 2814 Augusta Road in West Columbia.

The treasure hunt is about to begin in West Columbia.

The Bin Store, an overstock liquidation retailer that allows customers to look for deals on thousands of items laid out in bins throughout the store, announced on its Facebook page that it will open at 9 a.m. Oct. 21 in the shopping center at 2814 Augusta Road in West Columbia.

The Bin Store will be located in the same shopping center as Carolina Pottery and the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. It’s right across the street from Lowe’s Home Improvement and just west of Interstate 26.

Bin shopping has become a popular trend in recent years, including in the Midlands. For instance, a different bin shop, Where Ya Bin, opened in August on Forest Drive in Columbia, not far from Fort Jackson.

Prices at The Bin Store will vary by the day of the week. Fridays and Saturdays, when the store has been freshly restocked, everything will be $6. On Sunday everything will be $5, then $4 on Monday, $3 on Tuesday, $2 on Wednesday and $1 on Thursday. Then the store will restock for Friday, and the cycle starts again.

On its Facebook page, The Bin Store teases the possibilities of the plunder discount shoppers may find, including video game equipment, power tools, high-end headphones and more.
