A Columbia Philly Pretzel Factory restaurant plans to close. Here’s what we know

A Columbia restaurant known for its fresh baked pretzels plans to close.

Philly Pretzel Factory, located next door to Publix at 2800 Rosewood Drive, announced the coming closure in a Facebook post on Dec. 9.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce Philly Pretzel Factory Columbia will be shutting down by the end of the year,” the post said. “Please be advised our store hours may change based on product availability. We are thankful for all of our customers! It’s been a pleasure serving each one of you!”

The pretzel shop opened in late 2019 on Rosewood. Fresh baked pretzels are its specialty, including the classic twists, as well as offerings like party trays of mini dogs, which are hot dogs wrapped in pretzels.

“So sad,” one follower of the Columbia pretzel place wrote on the Facebook post announcing the business’ coming closing. “I am from Philly and this was always a taste of home for me when I needed to feel a little close to home. Thank you for this. You will be missed.”
