Here’s where burger and frozen custard chain Freddy’s will open next in the Midlands
A restaurant chain that specializes in steakburgers and a variety of frozen custard treats continues to make moves in the Midlands.
Commercial real estate firm Colliers announced that Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers has purchased the site at 1309 Charleston Highway in West Columbia. That’s just northwest of Interstates 26 and 77, not far from the Walmart Neighborhood Market. The site at 1309 Charleston Highway used to be home to a title loan business.
“Freddy’s has been very successful in our market as a quick-service restaurant, and it’s been a pleasure to assist 316 Restaurant Group to continue Freddy’s growth in our area,” Colliers South Carolina’s Mary Winter Teaster said in a statement.
Freddy’s already has four restaurant locations in the Midlands, including one that just opened at 111 Swartz Road near downtown Lexington. Other locations include shops on Killian Road in Columbia, Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia and Broad River Road in Irmo.
Freddy’s is known for its cooked-to-order burgers, all-beef hot dogs and shoestring fries. It also has a host of sweet treats that are made with freshly churned vanilla or chocolate frozen custard.
