Another Columbia Bed Bath & Beyond location will close its doors.

The Bed Bath & Beyond at 6090 Garners Ferry Road is among nearly 150 Bed Bath & Beyond locations on the most recent closure list released by the company Feb. 7. That’s in the Shoppes at Woodhill shopping center that includes Target, Party City and a number of other stores.

On Thursday morning there were large red signs on the windows of the Garners Ferry Road store announcing its coming closure and touting sales. “Everything must go!” one of the signs read.

A timeline for the closure of the Garners Ferry store and the other stores on the Feb. 7 list was not disclosed.

The latest wave of planned closures marks a continued trend for Bed Bath & Beyond, which has struggled in the years after the worst of the pandemic. According to a Jan. 5 story from The New York Times, the home goods retailer warned investors that bankruptcy was a potential option as the company looks to chart a path forward.

A Thursday story from CNN noted Bed Bath & Beyond is “teetering dangerously close to bankruptcy” and that it’s in the midst of several waves of closure announcements that will cut the number of stores from 760 to 360. The Columbia Garners Ferry store was included in that CNN story among the shops that would be closed.

This is the second Columbia Bed Bath & Beyond to be slated for closure. In January the company said the location at 10136 Two Notch Road would be among those that were closed.

The location at 136 Harbison Blvd. remains open.
