Flames shoot through Lexington County building in overnight fire
Firefighters battled an overnight blaze at a Midlands home, Lexington County officials said Monday.
At about 2 a.m., members of the Lexington County Fire Service responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Rawl Street, officials said. That’s in Lexington, near the intersection with South Lake Drive and about 2.5 miles from Exit 55 on Interstate 20.
Fire and smoke were seen coming from the abandoned home, according to officials.
Nine units, including 24 members of the fire service, responded to the scene and brought the blaze under control, officials said.
Information about how long it took to extinguish the fire was not available.
No injuries were reported.
There was no word about the extent of the damages, or if the home was considered a total loss.
