Search ends for missing Lexington County teen who hadn’t been seen in over a month

The search for a missing Midlands teenager ended Wednesday.

Austin West was found and was back with his family after he hadn’t been seen for more than a month, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said.

The 15-year-old was publicly reported missing by the sheriff’s department Wednesday morning.

West was last seen April 14, when he left his home without his parent’s permission, the sheriff’s department said on Twitter.

Information about where West was found and his medical condition was not available.

There was no word if West was considered a runaway, or if he was alone when he was last seen.
