A high-traffic road in Columbia will soon have a new place to get coffee on-the-go.

7 Brew, a national coffee chain with locations in numerous states, has a drive-thru location under construction in the 7200 block of Garners Ferry Road, a company official confirmed to The State. The shop plans to open in September, the official said.

The Garners Ferry 7 Brew will be located southeast of Interstate 77, next to a Spinx gas station and not far from a Days Inn hotel.

“7 Brew was born from a desire to change drive-thru coffee into a fun, mind-blowing experience for everyone,” the coffee company says on its website. “We dreamed of serving premium coffee in record time and making new friends while we’re at it. The dream came alive with our first ‘stand’ in Rogers (Arkansas), and our 7 original coffees. Today, we’re cranking out all kinds of custom-hand crafted drinks in different locations throughout the country.”

The menu at 7 Brew features a large selection of hot and cold drinks, including lattes, mochas, chai, cappuccinos, smoothies, shakes and more.

The Garners Ferry Road spot isn’t the only 7 Brew location being planned for the Columbia area. The company also is bringing a shop to the southeast corner of Beltline Boulevard and Forest Drive in Forest Acres.

With the announcement of 7 Brew’s coming Garners Ferry spot, the road is now set to get two new coffee chains. Scooter’s Coffee is soon opening a new shop at 7808 Garners Ferry.

Garners Ferry Road continues to be one of the most traversed non-interstate roadways in the Midlands. State Department of Transportation statistics show that more than 50,000 cars per day travel down the stretch of Garners Ferry just south of Interstate 77.
