Original Story
A search is underway for two missing teenage brothers from the Midlands.
Randall Murphy Jr., 16, and his brother Jaylen Clea, 14, were publicly reported missing by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday. The teens are considered runaways, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The brothers were last seen Monday near a relative’s residence on Dennis Road, according to the release. They might have taken an Uber to another home, the sheriff’s office said.
There was no word about why the brothers ran away.
Jaylen — who was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black pants, and blue/black Nike sneakers — has been in contact with a relative since leaving, according to the release. Information about what Randall was wearing was not available.
The sheriff’s office described Randall as 5-foot-6, 120-pound male with black hair and brown eyes. Jaylen is a 5-4, 100-pound male with black hair and brown eyes, according to the sheriff’s office.
