A well-known local burger restaurant has opened a second location in the Midlands.

Chubby’s Burgers recently opened a new restaurant at 106 Percival Road, Suite 200, just off Forest Drive near Forest Acres, as noted in a release from commercial real estate firm Wilson Kibler. It’s in the Jackson Square shopping center, not far from the U.S. Army’s Fort Jackson training installation. The new Chubby’s is next door to a Wingstop restaurant and a Club Champion golf shop.

This marks the second location in the Midlands for Chubby’s. The first spot is at 420 McNulty St. in Blythewood, which opened in Feb. 2022 following several years of being a prominent food truck in the area.

“This is exciting news to see the local favorite expanding into a regional staple,” Wilson Kibler’s Mike Edwards said in the release. “The anticipation for the continued growth and success for Chubby’s is great to play a small role in.”

Chubby’s is known for its smash-style burgers, including the signature Chubby Burger, which comes with bacon onion jam, Duke’s mayo, Havarti cheese and Cabernet ketchup. The restaurants also serve Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, as well as appetizers, salads and more.

The new Chubby’s location on Percival Road is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. It is in the midst of a busy, high-traffic area, with about 24,000 cars per day traveling down nearby Forest Drive, per state Department of Transportation data.
