A Midlands coffee business has closed one of its locations.

Bart’s Crazy Good Coffee has permanently closed its shop at 7949 Broad River Road in Irmo. The business announced the closure in an Oct. 16 Facebook post. The last day of business was Oct. 19.

“It is truly with tearful sorrow that we have to make this announcement,” the coffee shop said in the post. “Due to the impact from the downturn in the economic environment, along with a few other factors we have had to make the incredibly hard decision to end operations at our Irmo location.”

Meanwhile, the Bart’s location at 1311 Dutch Fork Road in the Ballentine area remains open, and restaurant officials said business has been good there.

“We believe we have a bright future ahead with the business model we are shifting towards [at the Ballentine location], which is a combination of our extensive lineup of coffee, food offerings, and ice cream,” Bart’s said in its Facebook post.

The now-closed Bart’s location on Broad River Road in Irmo was formerly home to Tribal Coffee Co. Bart’s took over operation of that storefront in Aug. 2023. The local coffee brand opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Chapin in 2020. It shuttered the Chapin location in February.
