Columbia’s new Whataburger on Devine Street sets an opening date. Here’s when
Good news, Whataburger fans. A new Columbia location of the popular franchise has set an opening date.
Whatburger will debut its restaurant at 4456 Devine St., near Garners Ferry Road, at 9:30 a.m Thursday, July 10, the company said in a release. The new Whataburger will be in the location that formerly was home to a PDQ restaurant. The PDQ closed in February 2024.
The first 100 customers at the new Devine Street Whataburger on Thursday will get a free “swag bag” and a free honey butter chicken biscuit or breakfast taquito.
This will mark the fifth Whataburger location in the Midlands. Aside from Devine Street, there’s one in Irmo, one on Bridgeberry Lane in northeast Columbia, one on South Lake Drive in Lexington, and a recently opened unit on Platt Springs Road near Red Bank.
“We appreciate the patience from the people of Columbia while we’ve shared Whataburger’s bold, fresh flavors to other parts of the Palmetto State,” Whataburger operating partner Josue Adame said in a statement. “Now we’re expanding our presence in the state capital, and we can hardly wait for the people of Columbia to come see us at our new location at 4456 Devine St.”
The Whataburger on Devine will have dine-in and drive-thru service, and will employ 65 people. Whataburger is open 24 hours per day, 364 days a year. They are closed on Christmas.
