Sidelined by weather, Lexington’s 2025 Dining on the Dam is back on. Here’s when

Lexington’s popular Dining on the Dam event has been rescheduled for Sept. 21, 2025.

A popular Lexington event that draws diners to the Dreher Shoals Dam at Lake Murray has announced a new date after being postponed earlier this year.

Dining on the Dam will return on Sunday, Sept. 21, according to a release from the Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center. The event was initially supposed to be in April, but was postponed because of inclement weather.

“We deeply appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we worked to reschedule Dining on the Dam,” Lexington Chamber CEO Angelle LaBorde said in a statement. “We are incredibly excited to host this popular gathering in the fall. I believe it’s more than just an evening out it’s an opportunity to create lasting memories, connect with others, and be a part of an unforgettable experience atop the scenic Lake Murray Dam!”

Chamber officials say more than 1,000 guests typically attend Dining on the Dam. This year’s dinner will include cuisine from Southern Way Catering, entertainment from The Big Time Band and more.

Tickets that were purchased for the original April date of Dining on the Dam will be honored for the Sept. 21 makeup, the chamber said. Additional tickets will go on sale at noon July 17 at diningonthedamsc.com, officials said.

Palmetto Renovations is the lead sponsor of this year’s dam event.

“I’ve had the pleasure of attending Dining on the Dam previously, and each time, I’ve been amazed by the incredible atmosphere, the breathtaking views, and the sense of community that fills the event,” Palmetto Renovations owner Matthew Graham said in a statement.

This marks the second time in recent weeks that a new date has been announced for an outdoor dining event over a Midlands body of water. The Gervais Street Bridge Dinner, the popular gathering over the Congaree River that was canceled in 2024, announced last week that it was returning on Oct. 26, 2025.
