A Lexington restaurant known for burgers has closed. What we know
A burger restaurant along a busy Lexington road has closed its doors.
The Wayback Burgers location at 5230 Sunset Blvd, in a shopping center anchored by a Lowes Foods, has shuttered. The restaurant was closed when a reporter went by Thursday afternoon during what would have been business hours. Notes in the doors and windows thanked customers for their years of patronage.
“We are sorry to announce, due to multiple business and personal reasons, that we have decided to close the doors for the last time,” the note read. “We apologize to every one of you and are thankful for letting us serve you to the best of our ability. God bless.”
The Lexington location page on the Wayback website lists the restaurant as “closed” for each day of the week in the hours section.
There are Wayback Burgers locations across the U.S. The company is known for cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and hand-dipped milkshakes. The Lexington location was initially announced in 2018 and opened in 2019.
