A growing national chain that specializes in salads is coming to a trendy Midlands shopping center.

Chopt Creative Salad Co., which has locations up and down the East Coast, will bring a restaurant to Trenholm Plaza at 4840 Forest Drive in Forest Acres, according to Thursday social media posts from the city of Forest Acres.

The salad restaurant will be on the north side of Trenholm Plaza, not far from Tazza Kitchen and the recently opened 16 Handles frozen yogurt shop.

“Your lunch plans just got a major upgrade,” the city said in its Instagram post touting the coming restaurant. An opening date for the Trenholm Plaza Chopt hasn’t been publicly announced.

Chopt was founded in New York City in 2001, and now has dozens of locations across numerous states.

“From classic cravings to seasonal collaborations, we challenge ourselves to create a menu that celebrates flavors from around the world and opens up a seat at the table for anyone who wants to join,” the company says on its website.

This marks the second time a salad-centered restaurant has called Trenholm Plaza home. Verde formerly had a location there, but it closed in December and the aforementioned 16 Handles yogurt shop is now in that space.

Trenholm Plaza has remained a reliably popular shopping center in Forest Acres, featuring a Publix, a Fresh Market, a Chicken Salad Chick location, a J. Crew Factory store and much more. About 28,000 cars per day travel down nearby Forest Drive, per state Department of Transportation statistics.
