This downtown Lexington biscuit restaurant is moving to a new location
A downtown Lexington restaurant known for biscuits and more plans to move and consolidate with a recently opened bar and grill in a different part of town.
Bubba’s Biscuit, which has been located at 115 W. Main St. in Lexington near the Icehouse Amphitheater for the last several years, plans to move to 269 Charter Oak Road and combine with Charter 803 Bar & Grill, according weekend social media posts from Bubba’s.
Local restaurateur Arif Ashfaq founded and owns Bubba’s Biscuit, as well as Charter 803 Bar & Grill. He also shared the news of Bubba’s Biscuit’s move on the popular Columbia Eats Facebook group, where thousands of local foodies often gather to share news and tips about local restaurants.
The Aug. 2 Facebook post from Bubba’s Biscuit indicated it will have service on Charter Oak Road on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The property at 115 W. Main St. in Lexington is currently for sale for $1.35 million, according to a listing from realty firm Trinity Partners.
Meanwhile, it’s been a summer of change for the property at 269 Charter Oak Road, which is not far from Lexington High School. For more than a decade, that location was known as Krafty Draft Beer Garden. But in May it closed the doors as Krafty Draft and reopened and rebranded under new ownership as Lexington Tap House.
Its time under that moniker was short-lived, however, as Lexington Tap House closed on July 19. Less than a week later, Ashfaq announced he would be stepping in and reopened the space as Charter 803 Bar & Grill.
The Charter Oak Road spot is about a mile north of Lexington High School and about a half-mile south of the Hendrix Crossing shopping center that is anchored by a Publix.
