A downtown Columbia business that most recently has been an upscale private event space has closed its doors.

The Venue, located at 1626 Main St., has closed, according to posts on its social media platforms. It had been open for a number of years with varying concepts.

“From our early days as a live music venue, to our reopening last year as a private event space, we’ve had the honor of hosting unforgettable shows, brunches, dinners and celebrations that brought Columbia together,” The Venue said in its closing social media post. “Thank you for letting us be part of your memories and for making The Venue such a special place on Main Street.”

The Venue was an endeavor from LTC Hospitality, which has a number of restaurants and businesses on Main Street and elsewhere in the Midlands. Other LTC businesses include the Grand on Main, the high-end Smoked eatery, Hanabi Hibachi & Sushi, and Chapin’s 518 Smokehouse, among others. The company also is prepping the Shoppes at Tapps, a boutique department store that will be in the historic Tapp’s building.
