Original Story
A search is underway for a missing South Carolina teenager with medical issues.
Destimy Wilson was publicly reported missing by the Columbia Police Department Monday night. The 17-year-old has not been seen for a week, police said on social media.
Wilson was last seen leaving her Sawdust Court home on Jan. 6, according to police. That’s in a part of Columbia between Leesburg Road and Lower Richland Boulevard.
Wilson, who did not have permission to leave her home, was called a runaway, according to police. There was no word if Wilson was alone when she was last seen.
Police did not say if foul play was suspected in Wilson’s ongoing disappearance.
Her family is especially concerned because the teenager left home without her medication, police said. Further information on her medical condition was not available.
Anyone who has seen Wilson, or has information about her, is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
In the case of an emergency, always call 911.
