Columbia’s getting a new Burlington store. Here’s when and where it will open
A national retailer known for deals on name brand clothing has set an opening date for its newest Columbia store.
Burlington, which has stores across the U.S. and South Carolina, will open a new location on March 6 at 136 Harbison Blvd., according to a release from the company. The store will be in the Columbiana Station shopping center, in between a Target store and a Sierra that opened last year.
“Opening a new, modernized store in Columbia is an exciting step for us as we continue expanding Burlington locations nationwide,” Burlington CEO Michael O’Sullivan said in the release. “We look forward to giving local Columbia customers the chance to explore great savings, find fresh brands, and experience our new and improved store design.”
Burlington carries clothing for men, women and kids, as well as personal care products, home office goods, some electronics and more.
The company has made moves in the Midlands in recent years. It has long had a store at the Dutch Square Center mall in Columbia. The company opened a store on Sunset Boulevard in Lexington in 2023, and it opened a location on Garners Ferry Road in November 2025.
The Harbison area has remained perhaps Columbia’s busiest shopping district, lined with big box retailers, smaller stores, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, hotels, the Columbiana Centre mall and more. About 28,100 cars per day travel down Harbison Boulevard, per S.C. Department of Transportation data.
