New Whataburger restaurant in this SC city sets an opening date. Here’s when
A Texas-based burger chain that has beefed up its South Carolina presence in recent years is set to debut a new location in the Upstate.
Whataburger, which has restaurants in a number of states, will open a new spot at 50 Westinghouse Road in Pendleton at 9 a.m. March 12, according to a news release from the company. That’s just north of the Boscobel Golf and Country Club and just south of Tri-County Technical College.
On opening day, the first 100 customers who arrive via the dining room or drive-thru will receive a free honey butter chicken biscuit or breakfast taquito, plus a “Whataburger swag bag,” the company said.
“We want this restaurant to be more than just a place to grab a burger — our team is committed to showing up for Pendleton, supporting local schools and organizations, and building genuine connections with the neighbors we’re proud to serve,” Pendleton Whataburger operating partner Brandy Duncan said in a statement.
Whataburger offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu highlighted by, as the name suggests, a selection of hamburgers and cheeseburgers. There are more than 1,100 Whataburger locations across the U.S., according to data website ScrapeHero.
Whataburger has expanded its footprint in South Carolina in the last two years and now has 19 restaurants across the Palmetto State, including five locations in the Midlands.
