A well-known national pizza chain has set an opening for a new location in a busy area of the Midlands.

Pizza Hut, which has thousands of restaurants in the U.S., will debut a new location on March 17 [Online copy updated] at 364 Longs Pond Road in Lexington. That’s just south of the Longs Pond Road exit along Interstate 20.

The new pizzeria is coming from franchisee Sea Huts Corp., which operates nearly 30 Pizza Hut locations across South Carolina.

“We are thrilled to expand our footprint in Lexington County,” Sea Huts Corp. president Stuart Seagroves said in a news release. “Our goal with the Longs Pond Road location was to marry the iconic flavors our fans love with unparalleled ease of access. Whether you’re heading home from work or picking up dinner for the family, our new pick-up window makes getting a hot, fresh meal faster and easier than ever.”

The Longs Pond Road location will be among the first to showcase Pizza Hut’s new hand-tossed crust, which has been “reimagined for a lighter, airier texture and seasoned to perfection,” per a release.

The new Pizza Hut will be coming to a high-traffic area in Lexington County just south of Interstate 20. Other businesses nearby on Longs Pond Road include a Starbucks, an Arby’s, a McDonald’s and a Love’s gas station and convenience store, among others. About 13,600 cars per day travel down that stretch of Longs Pond Road, per state Department of Transportation data, and about 51,000 cars per day travel down Interstate 20 nearby.

Pizza Hut has long been a recognizable name, and has more than 6,700 locations in the U.S., per data website ScrapeHero. Its menu includes pizza, wings, pasta, breadsticks desserts and more.
