New Brookland Tavern, the famed music venue in Five Points, is moving for a second time, the business announced on Facebook.

The tavern, located at 632 Harden Street, said the new location is not yet known, though they “have a plan.” The business intends to close the Five Points location in May, and have encouraged patrons to support the move by purchasing a ticket to one of its shows.

“Last few years have been awesome here (but tough),” the venue posted on Facebook. Alas, we aren’t done yet. See yall on the other side.”

The anticipated move comes less than three years after the business had to pack up shop and leave its long-time home on State Street in December 2023 and traverse across the river and into The Cotton Gin building.

Despite changes in ownership and financial hurdles — the business temporarily closed in 2024 after its liquor license was pulled behind tax issues — the venue vows to push forward.

“To clarify — we are moving, not closing permanently,” the venue later posted on its Facebook story. “This is a positive for us and everyone else. The day we close for good will be wayyyyy more dramatic.”
